Maintenance of Certification Part II Lifelong Learning & Self-Assessment Requirements
- Completion of 90 hours of Category 1 CME relevant to the diplomate’s practice over a three-year cycle.
- At least 60 of the 90 hours must include self-assessment – a written or electronic question-and-answer exercise designed to assess understanding of the CME material.
- A score of 75% or higher must be required on the self-assessment activity for it to count toward MOC Part II. However, there is no minimum number of questions and repeated attempts are allowed.
Diplomates who pass a certifying or recertification/MOC exam from the ABS or another ABMS board may waive 60 hours of Category 1 CME with self-assessment toward the Part II requirement.
