Associate Editor for Interprofessional Education
Sonia J. Crandall, PhD, MS currently serves as the associate editor for the Interprofessional Education Collaboration collection. Dr. Crandall is a tenured Professor in the Departments of Physician Assistant Studies and Family & Community Medicine at Wake Forest School of Medicine. She is the Director for Scholarship and Research for the Department of Physician Assistant Studies and Director of the Women’s Health Center of Excellence Leadership and Mentoring Program. She is affiliate faculty in the Maya Angelou Center for Health Equity and the WFU Translational Science Institute. She has a Ph.D. in Adult Education and a MS in epidemiology. Her medical education research background is in curriculum development, program evaluation and adult learning theory and has additional expertise in designing cultural competence curriculum for health professions learners.
She also serves on the Editorial Board of MedEdPORTAL, as associate editor for Medical Education Online and BMC Medical Education and is a member of the editorial boards of Medical Science Educator (formerly the Journal of the International Association of Medical Science Educators) and the Journal of Continuing Education in the Health Professions. She serves as a peer reviewer for several journals including Academic Medicine.
Dr. Crandall has been a constant advocate for MedEdPORTAL since its inception and served as the associate editor for Special Collections.
