Who has access to the CE Directory?

All MedEdPORTAL services, including CE Directory, are available at no charge to the general public around the globe.

Does the AAMC charge for access to the CE Directory?

The AAMC does not charge the end user; however, the institution supporting the activity may charge for credit.

Are there fees associated with registering and completing online activities in support of CE credit?

Individual CE providers may charge a fee to the end user for completion of the online CE activities. Fees to complete the activity are paid directly to the CE providers.

Does the CE Directory include face-to-face activities not available online?

No, the CE Directory lists only continuing education activities are available for completion in their entirety through the online learning format.

Does the CE Directory include online activities available in foreign languages?

At this time, CE activities listed in the CE Directory are available in English only.

As a CE provider, how can I add my online CE activities to the CE Directory?

Interested submitters should review the inclusion criteria for activities and then complete the online submission form.External Link

Is there a fee for adding online CE activities to the CE Directory?

MedEdPORTAL welcomes submissions to the CE Directory at no charge through December 2013 Starting in January 2014, the AAMC will charge a modest fee to the CE providers for inclusion of their activity descriptions in the directory. That fee has not yet been established.

Why would CE providers want to add their online CE activities in the Directory?

The purpose of the CE Directory is to promote the availability of accredited continuing education activities in the support of patient care, lifelong learning, re-licensure, and maintenance of certification goals.

The CE Directory provides practicing health professionals with the ability to quickly search, find, and access high quality, accredited online courses developed by faculty and staff from non-commercial health institutions.

As a service within MedEdPORTAL, listings within the CE Directory will be promoted to a newsletter subscriber base of nearly 20,000 which represents all health professions.  Each week, the MedEdPORTAL Publications site receives over 1,000 downloads each week from users representing over 195 countries.  The cross-indexing functionality of the MedEdPORTAL suite of services promotes the availability of applicable tools within each individual service.

Available activities span many disciplines and specialties and can be further filtered by competency, instructional methodology, academic focus, and more.
