Description

This publication predates MedEdPORTAL Publication’s policy requiring authors to include all files and materials for end user implementation. To maintain the integrity of our peer review process, MedEdPORTAL Publications no longer permits content hosted on external sites.

This web-based tutorial on Full Crown Preparation is designed to prepare students prior to using Dental Simulation Technology (DentSim), an advanced virtual-based technology in tooth preparation in dentistry. The content has two parts: the first part provides learners the conceptual understanding of the Principles of Crown Preparation as prescribed by the doctrines of the DentSim module; the second part demonstrates the step by step procedures in the preparation of tooth number 19 in receiving a Full Crown. The entire module is about thirty minutes long. It contains illustrations and photos that reinforce the textual presentation of the concepts. At the end of the session, learners have the opportunity to test themselves and review the correct answers using the self-assessment quiz that is part of the module.
