Description

The Oral Cavity: A Study of the Development, Anatomy and Histology of the Oral Cavity is a concise, yet comprehensive review of the oral cavity. The presentation is intended for medical and dental students and residents who are preparing for the board examinations or reviewing embryology, anatomy and histology of the oral cavity. The presentation maybe used in private or in the lecture hall to learn or deliver a comprehensive review of the oral cavity in a concise manner. The presentation includes a completely narrated lecture, PowerPoint slides and captions that together or individually are intended to deliver an effective overview and review of the oral cavity. The presentation is intended primarily for medical and dental students and faculty.

The cogent 20 minute, MP4, tutorial and accompanying slides and caption on the oral cavity development, anatomy and histology was created for use by faculty, students and residents in medicine and dentistry. The framework provides a concise review of embryonic development and the maturation of the oral cavity into structures of the adult oral cavity. An anatomical review of the oral cavity is followed by a detailed histological review of the structures of the oral cavity. Original images provided in the presentation may be adapted for use in a variety of educational settings to increase discussion and foster a comprehensive review.
