Abstract

Cardiovascular Training Section of The Village Healthcare Handbook is a concise, written guide to treating patients for cardiovascular health. It will establish an open source basic medical training guide to support healthcare education in the developing world. It is aimed to utilize existing training and medical assets in third world countries and create sustainable improvement in the region’s healthcare system. Furthermore, it is intended for healthcare workers in third world countries with basic medical knowledge. This section is a chapter in the greater Village Healthcare Handbook, which will include many sections with educational information on healthcare.

The Village Healthcare Handbook prior to revisions is a manual which was used from 1983-1989 to conduct a 6 month village health worker training program in Thal, Pakistan and Wazeristan in order to train Mujahideen medical personnel. A classroom and medical training clinic was operated in Thal as part of this effort. Approximately 600 Afghan medical personnel were trained using the Village Healthcare Handbook.
